need some help on my 8 3/4 what color to paint it ? 73 rr

im redoing my 8.75 on my 73 rr the housing is going to be satin black . my question is were the backing plates , center section and leaf springs painted or left clear i want it to look like it came from the factory . if anyone has photos of theirs that the restored please post them .

I can't be 100 percent sure that the color scheme still applies for 1973 models, but here is what this restoration guide recommends. Hopefully someone with a 73 survivor will chime in. Scott.
