For those of you looking for 14x6 steel wheels, I wish you all the luck in the world :P . As Eric knows, I looked for wheels for a loooooooong time. It seems that everyone who ever had these on their cars must have thrown them in the garbage immediately after taking delivery of the new car.

Thanks. We're waiting on a couple of parts that are on backorder, otherwise, there is about a another week's worth of work left. Also decided the original glass has some scratches that I can't live with, so I ordered a complete AMD set. Our resto shop is an AMD dealer and gave it to me for cost, so it made it an easier decision.

John Herlitz is smiling from up above and saying " Now that is how you treat a 71 GTX"

Nice Car Boy is it gonna get looks from the crowd.

P.S I think most Roadrunner owners know who John Herlitz was......but maybe not.

I do know who John is. In my opinion, the styling of this car was way ahead of it's time and was quite a leap from the taxi cabs that preceded it. :D

Yep, I sold the remaining pair I had to Eric... Even though my Runner came with them originally I only had two left. Now none. The car ain't going back to steel wheels as long as I have it... :D

Interesting reading about John Herlitz and the design of the 71 Plymouth B

And yes, I agree with Ryan, the correct 14x6 wheels are harder to find than those 450 15" wheels eveyone pays big $$ for. If it weren't for Bruce I'd probably still by trying to complete a set of 4.

I have a buddy doing an incredible resto on a car and wants every part to be # matching, his car came with those rims I always wondered why he was so determined to find the 6's I know it took a lot of looking for him to get 4 of them

Well, if we are going to add links to interviews with John Herlitz, we might as well mention this one:

http://roadrunnernest.com/herlitz/

That was one of the coolest days of my life! Bruce even got a voice mail from Mr. Herlitz that day if I remember correctly.

Yep, I got a voicemail from Mr. Herlitz, cuz I was out of my office and down in the photo studio... so wish work hadn't gotten in the way of receiving THAT phone call!

Well, the car is basically done with the exception of a few decals, the pinstripe and putting on the hubcaps. I just got back from Mexico last night and my dad picked up the car last wednesday. I haven't seen it in person yet, but judging from the pics, it looks like it turned out how I had envisioned it. These pictures are from the resto shop, so the quality isn't very good, but this spring when the weather gets nicer, I'm going to have my sister, who is a professional photographer, take some good quality photos. Until then, these will have to do.
