AND B-J Thanks them for it!!!! If I remember correctly BJ collects 8% from each side of the transaction.bruce wrote:
And yes, BJ is as much about the egos involved as it is the cars.
Of course,( had I had the money) I would have paid more than the 190K for the 67 shelby that Sammy Hagar was selling. Not for the car mind you- But Sammy knows how to party- that was part of the deal!! MAS TEQUILA

I have never been a fan of the BJ auction, sure those cars are sweet to look at and it sure is fun to watch some sap throw down some serious $$ on some car that they couldnt wrench on if thier life depended on it. They ( B J ) are one of the reasons classic car prices have gone thru the roof. Now you have people selling thier cars on ebay for outragous prices, even if they are not worth it. Dont get me wrong I know the value of restored muscle car I have had quite a few MOPARS ( just not lately). I have been looking for a 71 lately and I cant believe what a RR that needs a total restoration is going for. Now that I am in a position to get another RR I will most likely be one of those guys that will spend too much to get what I want. Back in the 80's if you had a clone it was just that now the clones are bringing almost as much as the real thing. I used to be a purist, I always had to have #'s matching, highly optioned, low milage MOPARS. And I would do what ever it took to get them. Now I would have to sell my soul for one and probably would, given the chance and the wallet to do so. I have seen some sweet birds on this site and I know that you guys work hard finding parts and working on your runners. This site is great I am happy I found it. There was a time when the 71 up b bodies werent even considered to be a collectable, damn times sure have changed. I have always had a soft spot these cars and now I will get another one hopefully this time it wont slip through my fingers as in the past.Well I guess I got side tracked from the topic, which is Barrett Jackson and what they do to to make it hard for the every day guy to get his hands on a nice ride for an honest price. Thanks for listening to my ranting. This site is great.
