Ive got a real problem and Im looking for some feedback. Ive got a almost rust free 71 RR that I bought for a donor car for the passenger qtr for my 72 RR. Problem is the car is really straight. Both qtrs are perfect. No rust, cept the rear floor pan, as the back window has been knocked out for quite some time. (Car is covered now.) Anyway, the car sat in a junkyard for along time and 1/2 of the interior is gone, axles, chunk, etc. Nothing under the hood. Just not sure whether I should cut it up or sell it for somebody to restore. If it was a Sat, there wouldnt be a problem. What do you think?
Thanks
Von

14,484 road runners were built that year- a real RM car- especially a big block car i would NOT cut up. They are just too rare after 34 years.
BUT IF you do- let me know on the drivers side qtr. I do need one of those.
I had to section mine over the wheel well.

I would cut it up as an absolute last resort. If the car has the fender tag, dash tag, door jam sticker or broadcast sheet, cutting it up should be ruled-out!
A similar story, I remember several years ago a friend of mine tried to sell a nice condition Banana Yellow 72 Road Runner. No one wanted it at the time so he parted it out as a donor car and made more money than if he sold it as a whole car. The money he made from parting out the car was spent long ago on groceries & beer etc. What was once a good running desirable car is now gone for good. They are not making any more of them. Once they're gone, that's it.
Hopefully they'll make reproduction quarters soon so these won't be such difficult decisions to make. Good luck!

I have no idea what it is worth. But My car is not in as good shape as you describe your donor.
My interior, Running gear is just fine. A new body would be easier for me to move all my stuff into then fix my Frankenstein car. I still have a nice set of doors to put on it but it needs sooooo much more body wise.
I have a new gas tank and HD springs to put on this winter. The Tranny is fresh rebuilt 2 mos ago and the motor was rebuilt a few yrs ago.
Let me know where you are and how much you want for the body.
